Robert Gates Revisited

The guys at Foreign Policy give Robert Gates a wire-brushing while he’s taking a victory lap.

It’s a great read and a sense of the entire article is encompassed in this faint-praise sound-bite:

Gates was an able defender of the status quo, but at a time when U.S. foreign and military policies desperately needed an overhaul, he was not up to the task.
