With enough speculation, someone’s going to get it right

The article from NPR offering that General David Petraeus will be the next CIA Director seems plausible enough, with Cartwright being the favorite (literally) to replace Mullen as the CJCS.
No doubt there are those who’d prefer to have Petraeus inside the tent micturiting out versus the other way around.
Current CIA Director Leon Panetta taking the SecDef position seems like an unusual choice, however, he would only have to last until a second term (or a new administration), and so it could be limited to a 15 to 18 month gig.
