What Can Space-Based SAR Do For You?

A post the other day addressed the German Aerospace Center, DLR, and their two synthetic aperture radar spacecraft TanDEM-X and TerraSAR-X.  The spacecraft are now flying in close formation with less than 400 meter separation.

The jpeg is their picture of Mt. Etna, the Sicilian volcano.  Best commercial SAR ever?
