NASA: Not About Space Anymore?

OK, the headline is basically a teaser.

If you look hard, you can parse out the “cooperation” part of the national space policy in this article which talks about three UAE students participating in a NASA program which had been “previously reserved for US citizens.”

There’s more: another nine Emirati students are programmed to attend NASA training in the fall.

Given the UAE’s position in the world–literally–it is an area of keen U.S. interest.

This sort of effort shows how U.S. spacepower may sometimes follow circuitous routes and methods to try to help secure such interests.
