The House Science and Technology Committee is not happy with NASA’s to-date ability to explain and defend their FY2011 budget request.
Because the Committee hasn’t gotten what they’ve asked for, they’ve asked somewhat more forcefully–by directing the NASA administrator to deliver the documents used to prepare the FY11 budget.
Not good for NASA.
NASA is between the administration who has given them a major re-direct and the Congress, who supplies the money.
The administration failed to provide a “safe first step” in transitioning NASA out of the Constellation program and into a full-bore commercial space solution.
I’m all hooah about commercial space, but the safe first step is essential.
Evolution, not revolution rules the day in government .
